What to Expect From Us:
If you’re reading this, chances are you’re at least considering a visit to our Sunday morning service, and we hope you decide to make that happen. Here’s just a few things to help you know what to expect:
How long is the service?
About 90 minutes. We start at 10:30am and are out around noon.
Have kids with you?
No problem! All are welcome. We offer children’s church for kids up to age 12. We try to keep this ministry as consistent as possible, but occasionally kids will worship alongside the adults.
We welcome kids of all ages in our worship service, and we have Sunday school classes for all ages. We have a nursery available for infants and little ones during the worship service, but you are also welcome to keep the kiddos with you.
We believe corporate worship is essential, and we are certainly open to family integrated worship services.
If you have a heart for children’s ministry, and would like to help with children’s church or in our nursery, we would love to plug you in once we get to know you! We don’t just stick our kids with anyone, and we don’t expect you to either. Trust is essential, and we want to make sure the kids are well taken care of and are getting the Gospel of Jesus Christ when they’re here.
What’s the service like?
FBC of Greensburg, KS offers an intentionally blended, Gospel-centered worship service. We value traditional and modern worship music styles, and we firmly believe that the older and younger generations need each other and should worship together, so we feel a blended service is important and appropriate.
Our service opens up with brief announcements and recognition of birthdays and anniversaries, followed by a brief sharing of testimony, prayer concerns and praises from the week before.
A question to always expect is: How have you seen God’s hand at work in your life this week?
We are a family at FBC Greensburg, and we make it a point to bear one another’s burdens and joys in prayer and fellowship. This family atmosphere is part of our worship service.
We then sing a traditional hymn to open up our time of worship through music, and an offering is taken afterwards. The FBC Praise Team then leads our congregation in a few praise and worship songs, followed by the preaching of God’s Word.
Pastor Nick is primarily an expository preacher, and will teach through books of the Bible continuously. We promise, this isn’t as boring as it sounds. Feel free to sample some of his sermons here. Fair warning though; he takes the Bible seriously, and hopes you will too.
How do people normally dress?
Comfortably. Pastor Nick usually wears jeans and an un-tucked button up/collared shirt. Please know, this is a non-issue. We have folks here who dress up, and we have others who wear jeans and t-shirts. All we ask is simply this: Wear clothes, and come with a desire to hear the Bible preached.
